Herald Academy has an English teaching position open for a native English speaker who possess a Bachelors Degree (Any major is fine). We are looking for people interested in teaching English. No prior experience is necessary, but we do require you to have at least one year of work experience in any field. Patience and a true desire to teach are required.

Herald Academy at Dong-baek(we usually call "Dong-baek Herald") is one of The Korea Herald branches. Dong-baek School is small but it's operator owns the building and has been running the school successfully for 13 years now. Each teacher is provided with a PC in the office, a desk, teachers supplies, and a nice working environment.

About the City:

Herald Academy at Dong-baek is located in a new city called Dong-baek, in the district known as Bun-dang. The city is closely located to both Seoul (50 minutes) and Kan-nam. Both are easily accessible via bus. Dong-baek is a clean city with a pleasant environment and features, such as Lake Park and Mt.. The city is a safe place to live and is surrounded with parks and walking trails. Also, since Dong-baek was a well planned city, it offers a convenient lifestyle including medical facilities, grocery stores, large shopping malls, department stores, western style restaurants, bakeries, bookstores (with books written in English), and cafes.

Here's a brief outline:

1. Teach elementary / junior / adult students - Monday to Friday between the hours of 2:00 am to 10:00 pm, exact schedules vary on a monthly basis according to factors such as student numbers
2. Max. 5 or 7 teaching hours per day (additional hours are considered as overtime, and will be paid accordingly - this seldom happens)
3. Gross salary: 2,300,000 to 2,400,000 Korean Won/month (bonus*, house rent 500,000 and medical insurance). Some deductions are made for utilities, local tax and medical insurance (50%). You can check the currency exchange rate.
4. Two years contract. We hope for more than 2 years and long term
5. Bonus* : 2 months salary for severance paid at the completion of the contract
6. Housing: single housing. Teachers apartments are within walking distance of the school (less than 5 minutes)
7. Teachers' office (single room): with a PC, a desk, teachers supplies and etc.
8. Pick up (include Airport pick up, drop off service, and Korean tour), Emergency Service and etc.
